Spacelords’ Advice / Wait til the full game is released
 on: December 14, 2017, 11:27:34 PM
matchmaking is dead, devs make skins and characters they expect people to pay $60, theyre constanty screwing over Founder Pack owners and half the time I'm not even sure if I'll have access to the content I've purchased.

The game is fun but the development and business model behind it has crippled it's potential. Wait a year for the full campaign to be released as a bundle, you'll probably be able to buy all campaigns and characters in a "Definitive" edition for $30. Find a few friends to play with and you won't regret it. As of now, I've waited hours to find matches and weeks to play content I've purchases. It's a headache trying to play ATM so if you're interested in the game, play the prologue and wait til the devs get their act together.

Side note for RotBP fans and devs: Publicity wouldn't hurt. One of the painful truths of the game is not many people have bought campaigns, and because of that Campaign owners have a harder time finding matches. Although a new update aimed to fix that, they still expect people to grind hours just to play the levels and people just wont stick around playing the prologue. What would help is getting some publicity, this is a beautiful game and if IGN or Game Informer got their hands on this and saw past all the paywalls and matchmaking restrictions, more people might be aware of the game. I hate to say it but it might already be too late, even with the F2P'esque update, so yeah. To save face they'll probably release a cheap bundle when all the campaigns are released so pick it up then. It's not worth the headache right now

Gameplay Feedback / Re: Raiders camp in spawn while waiting for Aleph
 on: December 07, 2017, 06:21:41 AM
What level is this happening on? From my experience through the two campaigns, there aren't too many levels that have a specific spawn zone that AI can't get to. I know I had trouble with people on the last stage of the prologue, but enemies are able to swarm the hall they spawn in. I dont doubt that its none the less frustrating though >.<

TBH I honestly liked Jerico as a game, it wasn't pretty nor my cup of tea, but it was an enjoyable game if you didn't mind a little grit. Castlevania was awesome, too, through and through (last boss ehhh)

I had high hopes for this game. It's fun and fresh but you're right, they have a blind leader promising returns on a doomed episodic multiplayer game. Any foresight into this would've turned up red flags, but fast forward a few months and here we are, matchmaking is a ghost town. Players who paid for campaigns can't even play them (don't get me started on Xbox Ones founder pack), and they can't get anybody to buy new campaigns, especially after the handout to the free players.

I would've gladly donated to a kickstarter to see a full game released as whole but it seems like they're trying to make their money on the way. I guess they expect to make returns by having a few whales buy $60 skins, but they won't last long.

The devs really need to reconsider their business format because the game is on a crash course for the pits right now. Devs, if you read any of these or my posts, I doubt any of us mean ill. This IS a fun game and we are all hoping this fantastic burning boat can stay afloat, despite our frustrations. Its a shame to see a good game doomed by so many aspects. We want Raiders to succeeeeed  <3

This game is fun but the pace at which you can upgrade and unlock is so deterring to players, I even made a post yesterday about the state of matchmaking. Day 2 of Wardog and I can't find matches through 2 hours of searching. People either aren't buying campaigns (which is true) or aren't finding value in progressing or coming back to play (which matchmaking represents). Its such a shame because this IS a fun game at it's core, but they're essentially paywalling the game to death. you can't find matches for the campaigns you paid for, so why should patrons pay more money to not play the new campaigns when you can only matchmaker for Prologue?

Honestly I don't see much changing through any series of updates. Every campaign release further divides the matchmaking pool, so come the 4th installment.. good luck matchmaking.

The only thing I can see saving this doomed gem is a sale to rope new players in. Those new players need to sink their teeth into something good and crave more so they buy, and I doubt the Eternal Soldier does much for that when now they can essentially play the prologue until they gold up a campaign. Give free players the full prologue missions and a few teaser missions to get a feel for it, maybe 2 free tickets to matchmake any level or something. Limit their character pool and let patrons show off all the characters they could have.

This game needs fresh players, a lot of them, but no one will stick around when it takes so long to grind for weapons and cards. I really hope this game can adapt because it really is a fun game, but there are so many things dooming it. Once matchmaking becomes a ghost town, it's kinda hard to rebound..

Spacelords Universe / Can't find any games, good luck
 on: December 02, 2017, 06:12:24 AM
Day 2 of Fury of the Wardog and I still can't find any games. I've been searching for a game on mission 3 for over an hour and haven't found a single game. I paid $40 for the Xbox founders pack and through Mercurysteams fault I couldn't play Alien Myth for a week because they dropped the ball. Now I can't even play the second installment of the campaign because THERE'S NOBODY PLAYING.

So just to recap, Eternal Soldier update added more things to free players, including purchasing characters, unlocking cards and weapons, and even the possibility to play missions (I'm assuming with an absurd amount of credits). Wow, free players are getting a lot added! They can pretty much enjoy the full capabilities of the game, almost as much as those who paid for it! Wait, actually more. The people who did support MercurySteam by buying campaigns or the founder pack, have less matchmaking opportunities that free players do. I'm trying to play Wardogs Fury on the SECOND day it's out, where you're most likely to find other players for the same campaign, and I've searched for HOURS for a match. I had better luck yesterday with a still cringy 15 minute wait, but at least I found a match. I don't see players being able to matchmake through campaign as time goes on, and I'm almost at wits end to demand a refund because I can't play this game. Solo is a petty joke, and the business model compromises the game for those that paid for the game because YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND A GAME. It's a beautiful and fun game when you do play, but I'll adamantly pass if I have to wait an hour to find a single lobby for a brand new campaign.

UPDATE: Finally gave in and played WF Mission 3 solo and this game is vapid and ultimately unenjoyable in solo. If there were bots to help you it might be slightly fun but that's besides the fact. Unless you know 3 people that also paid $40 to not play a game, good luck in matchmaking friends.
