Hi, everyone!
As the subject states, the topic is about SööMA's Redeemer.
For those who haven't had the chance to try it yet: a mid-range full-auto 3-round rifle that fires bullets when shooting at a target, or up to 5 damage-over-time orbs when shooting at the environment. A common blueprint with a decent damage output, great for keeping respawn points and engineer stations at bay.
Here lies the problem with it: "[...] fires bullets when shooting at a target, or damage-over-time orbs when shooting at the environment."
Let's say you place all orbs in strategical enemy positions and move on to the mission's primary objective. From here on, every shot you miss places a new orb in the environment, replacing the previous. When you miss 5 shots, you lose all orbs placed in those strategical enemy positions. The weapon provides an unintended firing pattern and requires an unforgiving aim to compensate it.
To put it bluntly, it's as if HAREC's Easter Egg would fire bullets when shooting at a target, or mines when shooting at the environment. Instead, it offers 2 fire-modes, which doesn't provide an unintended firing pattern nor does it require an unforgiving aim to compensate it - and it's a sniper.
Here is a possible solution to it: offer 2 fire-modes, one that fires bullets, and another that fires orbs. With it, firing patterns are intended, so aiming is no longer unforgiving. Two birds, one stone.
Feel free to share your thoughts!
