Change the netcode!! I keep dying all the time from lag. Lag will always exist just change the way your game reacts to it. I have played a few coop online games before that ignore internet connection and let you move and shoot in real time with no delay. This is effectively like playing a singlepayer game without the lag. But if it's an antagonist then my damage should be delayed but let me move without lagging.
